​Don't let fraudsters target your pension!

Pension fraud is a growing problem in the UK so make sure you know the warning signs to watch out for and don’t be lured into an illegal transfer.
If you fall victim to pension fraud, you could lose all of your pension savings and face tax charges as well!
Red flags  

  • Cold calls
  • PO Box addresses or serviced offices
  • Mobile phones as contact numbers
  • Recommendation from friends
  • ‘Deals’ such as overseas investments, guaranteed returns, or limited offers

What to do…  

  • Use an independent financial advisor if you are considering a transfer and check the advisor is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority at
  • See if any transfer deal offered to you is a known scam at
  • Study details of any transfer carefully yourself
  • Call the Pensions Advisory Service for help on 0300 123 1047 or visit
  • Visit to learn about your retirement options
  • Report any scams to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040
